Lucille Cheshier - Lake City

Lucille Cheshier, 86, of Lake City, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Lakeside Nursing Center. Born in Brookland, she had lived in Jonesboro for 51 years and was retired from the Crane Co. A charter member of Pleasant Grove Home Demonstration Club, she was a member of United Methodist Women and Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Billy Don Cheshier of Southaven, Miss., Ray Alan Cheshier and Rick Cheshier, both of Jonesboro; a daughter, Jane Cook of Augusta, Ga.; three sisters, Murleen Davenport of Paragould, Jean Cudd of Brookland and Carol McGaughey of Dixie; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Cheshier, a brother, a sister and a great-granddaughter.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Rev. Larry Hunt officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Bobby Elder, Ralph Crain, Ronnie Erwin, Donald Wayne Cheshier, Barry Cudd, Lynn Erwin, Kelly McGaughey and Kevin McGaughey.

Honorary pallbearers were William Hodges, Bill Coble, Don Ellison, Ed Sanson, Bob Lovins, Tommy Jackson, Riley Futrell and Tony Futrell.
