Larry Wayne Horner, Sr. - Manila

Larry Wayne Horner, Sr., 67, of Manila, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late William and Ida Garrett Horner and had been a longtime Manila resident. He was a 1954 graduate of Manila High School and played basketball and baseball for Manila including four straight undefeated baseball seasons. He attended Arkansas State College and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired medical technologist. He was a member of the Manila First Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Larry W. Horner, Jr. of Fayetteville and Garry Horner of Little Rock; a daughter and son-in-law, JoEllon and Tim Pianalto of Springdale; a sister, Wanda F. Johns of Blytheville, and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Horner.

A graveside funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Ray Dill officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
