Alma C. Smith, 80, of Fenton, Mo., died May 31, 2003, in St. Louis, Mo. She was born March 9, 1923, in Caraway. She was the daughter of Jaruus and Alica (Gosa) Turner. She was a nurse's aide and working in a nursing home.

She is survived by her daughter, Arvilla M. Skillman, of Collinsville, Ill; a son, Thomas E. (Carma) Turner of Fenton, Mo.; a sister, Luvina Gilreath of Searcy; two brothers, James Turner of Viola, and Chandler Turner of Brighton, Mich.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry H. Smith; her parents; four sisters, Lois, Gertrude, Flora and Doris; and four brothers, Brady, Floyd, Olen and Paul.

The funeral was held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Davison officiating. Interment was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
