"Bill" Lola Evon Adams - Caraway

"Bill" Lola Evon Adams, 84, of Caraway, died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker, member of Caraway First Baptist Church and had lived in the Caraway area most of her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Sondra South and Donna Smith, both of Caraway; two sisters, Helen Faulkner of Caraway and Pauline Griffith of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Mitchell Wilson, Barry Joe South, and Robyn Baker; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elsie Ston;, her husband, William Herbert Adams; two brothers; step-mother; step-sister and two step-brothers.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Caraway First Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Ray and Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Kenny Weathers, Hunter Miller, Curtis Miller, Randy Couch, Kenny Qualls, Dwight Whittenberg, Johnny Hawkins, and James Glidewell. Honorary pallbearers were James Brickell, Jack Fincher, Bill Starnes, Oscar Kee and Orwell Moore.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial to consider the Caraway First Baptist Church, the Caraway Ambulance Service or the Caraway Fire Department.
