David Arthur Macon - Leachville

David Arthur Macon, 47, of Leachville died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at his home. Born at Jonesboro, he was the son of the late James Woodrow Macon and had been a Leachville resident since 1990. He was a former Manila resident and was a farm laborer until failing health forced his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Tappy Macon of the home; a son, David Adams of Leachville: five daughters, Gloria Lee Macon of the home, Sandy Vancely, Linda Benham, Teresa McArthur, and Glenda Benham, all of Manila; three step-daughters, Jonie Boatman, Brenda Boatman and Heather Boatman, all of the home; his mother, Rosie May Lutz of Manila; a brother, James Wendell Macon of Brooksville, Fla.; seven sisters, Virginia Ann Hart of Keiser, Shirley Jean Hice, Lucy Faye Shepperson, LaVonda Sue Henry, Juanita Kay Reed, all of Manila, Geneva Estella Jackson of Sheridan and Velma Holt of Leachville; and 19 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Kay Macon, and a daughter, Lisa Ann Macon.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
