Dovie Davison Evans - Manila

Dovie Davison Evans, 86, of Manila, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Perry County, she was the daughter of the late Jethro and Effie Davison and had been a Manila resident for most of her life. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and beautician, and was a longtime member of the Westside Baptist Church in Manila and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of Virgil Evans.

She is survived by two daughters, Imogene Dobbins and Emogene Alexander, both of Manila; a brother, J.D. Davison of Wasco, Calif.; three grandchildren, Gene Dobbins of Manila, Tina Wallace of Paragould, and Tammy Cole of Paragould; and two great-grandchildren, Kenneth Wallace and Katie Cole, both of Paragould.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Bob Crabb officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Earl Jackson, Paul Wayne Fleeman, Charlie Fleeman, Tony Costner, Danny Minirth and Lonnie Wright.
