John H. Morris - Monette

John H. Morris, 78, of Monette, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a retired mechanic, attended church at Kennett Church of Christ and Monette First Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran and had lived in Monette since 1962. He was formerly of Senath.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Branum of Kennett and Kaye Owens of Idabel, Ok.; five grandchildren, LaDon Gramling, Scott Branum, Nick Branum, Candis Fiedler, and Tracy Hefner; 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Edward and Janie M. Morris, and his wife, Nadine Morris, and a sister, Edna Mae Lightfoot.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial was at the Senath Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Bill Craig, Gilberto Rojas, Bob Peel, Andy Peel, Stormy Peel, and Dewey Boyd. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Cannon, Sonny Wimberly, Charles Cato, Robert Flannigan, Bob Hout and W.T. Bibb.
