George David Whittenburg - Caraway

George David Whittenburg, 69, of Caraway, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Lonoke, he was the son of the late Louie and Francis Flowers Whittenburg and had been a resident of Caraway since 1940. He was an assembly technician with Peerless Manufacturing at Paragould and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Whittenburg, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Tracy Whittenburg, of Caraway; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Ronnie Tipton, of Caraway; two sisters, Irma Gatlin of Caraway and Ima Presley of the Milligan Ridge Community, and two grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Waymon Holt officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Adams, Kenneth Faulkner, Leo Stallings, Joe South, Rick Jackson and Charlie Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Jr. Presley, Billy Moyer, Gene Holt, Louie Presley, Tommy Schoolfield and Greg Adams.
