Albert Louis Roberts - Manila

Albert Louis Roberts, 79, of Manila, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Marmaduke, he was the son of the late Marvin and Nannie Lorene Smith Roberts. He was a retired concrete finisher and had lived several years in Flint, Mich., before making his home in Manila in 1996. He was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church in Flint, Mich.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Crouch Roberts of Hornersville; a son, Allen Ray Roberts of Flint, Mich.; two daughters, Janet Faye James of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary L. Murray of Manila; six brothers, J.T. Roberts of Paragould, Dean Roberts, Alvie Roberts, John Roberts, Clarence Roberts, all of Flint, Mich., and Gene Roberts of Branch, Mich.; three sisters, Dorothy Crouch of Manila, Mary Hadley of Memphis, Tenn., and Wilma Milligan of Batesville; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall Wayne Roberts and Alfred Roberts.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
