Dorothy Gamble Greer - Manila

Dorothy Gamble Greer, 76, of Manila, the widow of Lee Greer, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Covington, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Maggie Ewing and had been a Manila resident since 1933. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Manila.

She is survived by three sons, James Gamble of Cordova, Tenn., Dan Gamble and Billy Gamble, both of Manila; four daughters, Betty Lester and Mary McDaniel, both of Manila, Ann Dean of Branson, Mo., and Nancy Petty of Jonesboro; a sister, Nola Smith of Manila; 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Carmichael, grandsons, Gerald Petty, Jr. and Greg Lester; and brothers, Henry and Marvin Ewing.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. James Chipman officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
