James Edward Davis, 71, of Henderson, Tenn., died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. Born July 8, 1931, in Center Hill Community of Lexington, Tenn., he was retired from the Army with 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and a retired sales person with Davis Auto Mart in Henderson, Tenn. He was of the Baptist faith and a collector of antique cars.

His survived by his wife, Lavern Fisher Davis of Henderson, Tenn., two sisters, Linda Tucker of Manila, Ann Humpreys of Tyronza, and his stepmother, Beatrice Davis of Blytheville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Davis of Blytheville and gladys Holmes of Henderson, Tenn.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington, Tenn. Burial was in Mount Ararat Cemetery with full Military honors.
