Jane Rutledge "Sis" Stewart - Caraway

Jane Rutledge "Sis" Stewart, 77, of Caraway, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Monette Manor.

She was retired from Basler Electric in Caraway and was a member of the Caraway Church of Christ. She had lived in the Caraway area throughout her lifetime.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Stewart; two sons, Doyle Richard Stewart and Donald Wayne Stewart; and three brothers, Jim, Junior, and Mutt Rutledge.

Survivors include two sisters, Naoma Schlagenhoff of Webester, Ind., and Virginia Price of Jonesboro; two brothers, Richard Rutledge of Jonesboro and Art "Shorty" Rutledge of Spokane, Wash.; three sons, Ronald Stewart and Dale Stewart, both of Osceola, and Terry Stewart of Leachville; three daughters, Joyce Lamb of Lepanto, Rosetta Montgomery of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Gale Phillips of Paragould; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Caraway Church of Christ, with John Shadowens and Jeff McLean officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

Active pallbearers included Trent Lamb, Gary Stewart, James Hohn, Tommy Schoolfield, Ricci Waugh and Chad Stewart. Greg Syer served as honorary pallbearer.
