John William Cason - Millstadt, Ill.

John William Cason, 74, of Millstadt, Ill., died Thursday, April 25, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Born at Strawberry, he was a retired forklift operator with IML Trucking and served in the Navy. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7980 in Millstadt, the Millstadt Commercial Club and Teamster Local 600.

Survivors include his wife, Dortha "Dot" Gravot Cason of Millstadt; two sons, Kevin Cason and Dan Cason, both of Millstadt; four sisters, Thelma Price and Willine Trammel, both of Monette, Hazel Wallace of Jonesboro, and Dorothy Stull of Waterloo, Ill.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Mae L. Cason, one brother and one sister.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Strauss Funeral Home in Millstadt with the Revs. Ron Chase and Donald Trammel officiating. Burial was in Lake View Memorial Gardens at Fairview Heights, Ill.

VFW services were held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
