Goldie M. Shipman - Brookland

Goldie M. Shipman, 87, of Brookland died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Regional Medical Center of NEA.

Born at Light, she was a homemaker and had lived in Brookland most of her life. She was a member of the Brookland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Chester Shipman, Herbert Shipman and Wilson Shipman, all of Brookland; three daughters, Lee Lewis of Jonesboro, Helen Hale of Lake City and Linda Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas; four brothers, Earl Reece and Wilton Reece, both of Brookland, Herman Reece of Jonesboro and Harold Reece of Lake City; a sister, Irene Elder of Brookland; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Shipman; her parents, a son and two sisters.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brookland United Methodist Church with Mike Smith officiating. Burial was at Pine Log Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Wayne Shipman, Terry Shipman, Bryan Shipman, Jerry Morgan, Barry Hale, Kevin Green, Ronnie Green and Perry Morgan.
