Ethel Jolliff Russell - Manila

Ethel Jolliff Russell, 89, of Manila, the widow of Glenn Russell, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. Born in ell, the daughter of Joe M. and Martha Jane Riggs Rollins, she had been a resident of Manila since 1996 and was a member of the Blackwater Baptist Church. She was a retired tool and die machine operator and had been a resident of Leavenworth, Kansas for 15 years prior to moving to Manila. She was a member of the Federal Prison Retirees Association, the Byington 177 Order of the Eastern Star in Leavenworth, and the Rosarium White Shrine of Jerusalem in Lansing, Kansas. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW 56, Leavenworth, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America in Kansas City, the Rebekah Lodge in Lansing, and the EHU Homemakers Club in both Lansing and Manila.

She is survived by a daughter, Darline Yelenick of Leavenworth, Kansas; two brothers, Joe Rollins of Winchester, Kansas, and William Rollins of Vidor, Texas; two sisters, Ola Mae Timberlake of Manila and Elsie Kizinski of Paw Paw, Mich.; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (today) at the Blackwater Baptist Church in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville.
