Don "Duck" Despain - Lake City

Don "Duck" Despain, 54, of Lake City, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at his home. Born in Lake City, he had lived in Lake City and Nashville, Tenn., for most of his life. He was a truck driver for J and J Express and was of the Baptist belief.

He is survived by a daughter, Donita Clouse of Old Hickory, Tenn.; two sons, Kerry Despain of Trumann and Steve Despain of Farmington, Mo.; his mother, Lois Despain of Trumann; two sisters, Dorothy Golden and Charlene Despain, both of Trumann; and foru grandchildren, Carie Despain, Steven Despain, Clay Clouse and Tara Despain.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cleedus Despain, and a brother.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Emerson Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial was in the Upper Cane Island Cemetery near Lake City.

Pallbearers were Jerry Hill, Doc Hill, Rodney Despain, Steve Despain, Kerry Despain and Gary Despain.
