Rev. Aubra Olin Hays - Manila

Reverend Aubra Olin Hays, 88, a retired Methodist minister of Manila, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at his home. Born at Newburg, he was the son of the late Willie and Nola Benbrook Hays and had been a Manila resident since 1972. He was an Army veteran of World War II and during his 31 years in the ministry served churches in Viola, Cato, Pleasant Plains, Evening Shade, Turrell, Gilmore, Pea Ridge, Decatur, Yellville, Monette and Tyronza.

Survivors include a brother, Carmel Hays of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a sister, Letha Mantooth of Prescott, Ariz.; a step-granddaughter, Cody Issac of Essex, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Issac Hays, in 1993.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Manila with Rev. Mike Winberry officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

Active pallbearers were Dennis Farmer, Terry Carr, Tony Crowell, Sonny Ashley, Danny Fleeman and Casey Wells. Honorary pallbearers were District Methodist Ministers, Men's Sunday School Class of Manila First United Methodist and friends of the Circle Inn Restaurant.
