Edith Marie Rook - Lake City

Edith Marie Rook, 87, of Lake City, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Lake City. She was born in Winona, Mo., and had lived in Lake City since 1978 having formerly lived in St. Louis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lake City First Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Edna Parker of Missouri and Maggie Monroe of Arizona; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Rook, and a son, Robert Lee Rook.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Cane Island Cemetery near Lake City with Rev. Van Gilbert and Rev. Steve Crawford officiating. Burial was under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City.
