With the encouragement of family and friends within the Manila community, Pamela A. Chipman, has officially filed as a candidate for the mayor of Manila. Graduating from Manila High School is a strong source of pride for Pam and her husband, James. Their children, Josh and Seth, are also proud graduates of MHS. Craighead County Highway Department will close CR 940 on Monday, Sept. 26 at 8 a.m. It will remain closed approximately two months, or until the work is completed. The Highway Department will be building a bridge. CR 940 will be closed between CR 960 and CR 931. Detour signs will be posted to alert the public and motorists are asked to use caution in the area.
