QC approves several measures

The Mississippi County Quorum Court met Tuesday night at the Burdette Courthouse. Justices approved a number of ordinances and heard committee reports with 10 of the 11 members being present, the only absent member being Justice Neil Burge. County Treasurer Peggy Meatte reported the interest rate is currently .55 percent on a $100,000, one year certificate of deposit at the First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas in Osceola. ...

Vaccine clinic set for May 5

In the April 28 covid-19 update, Mississippi County health officer Dr. Valencia Andrews-Pirtle announced a vaccine clinic is scheduled for May 5. UAMS is sponsoring the clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville. Minyard to be sentenced May 17

The sentencing for Sabrina Minyard is scheduled for 1 p.m., Monday, May 17, in federal court in Little Rock. On Oct. 30, the former Temps Plus manager pled guilty in federal court for embezzlement of more than $793,000 from the business. “Between June 2007 and March 2019, Minyard wrote and cashed or deposited approximately 876 such unauthorized checks totaling approximately $793,219.04,” the federal court record reads...
