JPs approve resolution supporting extension of economic development tax

The Mississippi County Quorum Court met Tuesday night at the Burdette courthouse. Eight of the 11 justices of peace were in attendance with Aaron Fleeman, Mollie Jackson and Neil Burge being absent. The highlight of the meeting was the JPs unanimously approved a resolution to extend the half cent sales and use tax for economic development through June 30, 2033. The tax is currently set to sunset June 30, 2023. A special election to extend the tax would be held...
