  • * Blytheville city pool closes because of issue with permit (Local News ~ 06/04/19)
Tuesday afternoon, the Blytheville City pool was set to open at 1 p.m. but an inspector from the Arkansas Department of Health showed up and the pool closed because of an apparent paperwork issue. According to Parks Director Cody Wyatt, because the city hadn’t renewed the permit because of an issue with the state that it had to close Tuesday. Wyatt said the pool will reopen on Wednesday. A lifeguard on staff had told families waiting outside for the pool to open Tuesday that they didn’t know when it would re-open at that time. Wyatt said she called Friday because the state inspector had not shown up yet and they were to open the Walker Park pool on Saturday, which they did even without a permit and with permission from the state.
