As the son of a U.S. history teacher, I have always had a deep-seated appreciation for our national heritage. It's imperative for us to remember who we once were, if we want to know who we are going to be.

Blytheville High School held its annual Science Fair Tuesday. This year's winners will head to Arkansas State University in March to compete in the regional competition.

Opening dates for two of the new stores coming into the Chickasaw Plaza shopping center have been set, and a third store appears close to setting an opening date.

Pictured is Gary Holmes. Holmes was a member of the undefeated 1973 Blytheville Chickasaws. Holmes played defensive back for the Chicks from 1973-76, then played football under Coach Larry Lacewell at Arkansas State University.

Roma Wallace Lybarger Harper, 90, of Monette passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015. She was born Sept. 8, 1924, at Wallace Community near Monette to the late Dutch and Gania Finley Wallace. Mrs. Roma was lifetime member of the Monette First Baptist Church...
