While most people have tilled their gardens under and cleared out their flower beds by now, a few of us hard-core gardeners are still pulling fresh veggies of one type or another out of our well-mulched plots.

The Gosnell Junior High Science Fair winners were rewarded with a trip to Nucor-Yamato Steel on Nov. 20. Sweetie is 4 months old and weighs 6 pounds. She was rescued by Terri G., our animal control officer, and Clara T. and Joyce C., who operate Orphan Annie's. Sweetie lives up to her name and will be a great addition to any family. June Carter, a young Min-Pin mix who was in a foster home, is now a wing girl for a truck driver. ...

Karen Frances Edwards, 68, of Leachville, widow of Mr. Richard "Dick" Edwards, passed from this life Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Emma Jean McGrew, 76, of Manila, passed from this life, Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at her home.

Mr. Bonnie M. Warren, 84, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Hessmer Nursing Home.

Mrs. Willie B. White, 71, of Blytheville, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, in Blytheville.

Emma Jean McGrew, age 76, of Manila, passed from this life, Saturday Nov. 29, 2014, at her home. Born in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Julia Elizabeth Jackman and was a 1957 graduate of Arbyrd High School. She had lived in Indiana for 37 years before returning to Manila in 1994...
