Here we go again with another bunch of money-losing fools asking for a bailout. Baptist Hospital System agreed to build a new hospital in Blytheville and actually started the foundation work just south of town. Their only demand was that it be the only hospital in Mississippi County, which the quorum of fools (also known as the Quorum Court) demonstrated their business acumen and refused to close the Osceola branch. ...

The article pertaining to the half-cent sales tax did not reveal the total story. It only presented a sales pitch for the benefit of the officials of the county. It is called, normally, the easy way out of a mess. Why, over the many years that the deteriorated condition existed as explained by the newspaper article, wasn't there any actions taken to repair the failed parts of the system as they occurred?...
