The Carousel Farms Pet Cemetery has interred another of the family-loved animals.

Mr. Robert Carthee, 77, of Blytheville, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Great River Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by McDonald-Horne Funeral Home of Blytheville.

Emma Mae Miller, 88, of Blytheville, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Heritage Square Nursing Center in Blytheville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville.

Mrs. "Tommye" Powell, 87, of Jonesboro, and a former resident of Blytheville, passed from this life Friday, April 11, 2014, at the St. Elizabeth Place rehab center. Born to Walter and Roxie Rigsby in Stanford, Ky., she was a homemaker and a member of the Nettleton Church Of Christ....

The old Blytheville Steam Laundry could be coming down. Tuesday night, the Blytheville City Council is expected to consider an ordinance waiving bids and allowing Goolsby Inc., to demolish the building, located at 210 Second Street, and haul away the debris to the landfill...

The Moore Center, which has long served as office and voting space for county government, has been shut down in recent months. New city of Blytheville finance director John B. Callens is getting acclimated to the finance office. Callens has been on the job for a week, starting last Monday morning. "I've been impressed with the staff," he said. "They're all very knowledgeable and helpful; it's been a learning process, just getting to know all the department heads and the current software system that they have. Laura Martin will be directing the play "On Golden Pond" for the Arkansas Alzheimer's Association and is looking for someone to play the male lead character Norman Thayer.
