Maybe this is just a bad week. Maybe I'm getting crotchety in my old age. But I am getting progressively aggravated with the attitude most of the city/county has taken regarding animals being tossed out into the wilderness.

JONESBORO -- Gosnell's Marcus Mullins has made a habit of putting up monster numbers this season. But the talented senior tailback topped himself Friday night -- and every other dynamic rusher that's ever put on a Pirate uniform. Mr. Clyde Edward Petty, 64, of Lakeland, Fla., former longtime Manila area resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Fla.

Geneva Leanna McKinney, 89, of Gosnell died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Mr. Floyd Max "Bo" Jackson, 59, of Leachville, passed from this life Thursday Oct. 31, 2013, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Blytheville Police are investigating a burglary that apparently occurred Friday night at Cherry Tree Food Mart, located at 1044 Chickasawba.

Mississippi County's share of sales tax revenues took another dip in September, with income down both from August of this year and September of 2012.
