So yesterday, I almost blew up my Jeep because I was taking a nap. It's more than a little embarrassing, but hey, if that kind of stuff isn't what this column is for, then I don't know what is.

The city of Blytheville will try to become a back-to-back recipient of the Arkansas Volunteer Community of the Year Award. Resident Angie Trotter is currently gathering data on community's 2012-13 volunteerism for the city's submission, which is due by Sept. 30. The family and friends of local college student Kayla Evans are reaching out to the community for support in an effort to make what could be a life-saving purchase for her.
