Chickasaw kicker has 'golden leg'

Blytheville head coach Maurice Moody knows the value of a kicker, maybe more than any of his 5A-East colleagues. Last October, Moody watched his team score one more touchdown than Beebe, but lose, 51-50, in overtime. The Chicks scored eight touchdowns in the game, but converted only one of their seven two-point conversion tries. They also attempted one PAT, missing badly. Beebe, meanwhile, scored seven touchdowns, went 2-for-2 on two-point tries and 5-for-5 on PATs...

Pirates prepping for season (High School Sports ~ 07/28/11)
GOSNELL -- The Gosnell Pirates began late summer workouts this week in preparation for the 2011 season. The Pirates kick the year off with a scrimmage against Blytheville. The Arkansas Activities Association benefit game, originally scheduled for Aug. 23, has been moved to Thursday, Aug. 25 at Blytheville's Haley Field with the junior high scrimmage beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the senior high scrimmage... -

Be careful around propane tanks during hot weather

Additional caution may be in order for some Mississippi County residents during this summer's record-setting heat waves. According to Richard Deason, people who use propane tanks for power in their homes may not have all the information they need to keep their families safe.
