Summer Fest continues at ANC

In Arkansas Northeastern College's SummerFest class "Create Your Own Masterpiece," instructor Emily Ellis has been teaching basic painting and drawing techniques to students in two classes. Throughout the four-day camp, which is being held in the art room on ANC's main campus, students have learned about various artists and will have created their own work. Blytheville will hold its fireworks at dusk Sunday at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex on June Gosnell Drive, just past Thunder Bayou. The City Advertising, Tourism and Promotion Committee is sponsoring this year's event and says if citizens park at the Sportsplex they will have a great view of the fireworks. ...

WMV lands grant to purchase bus

Linda O'Guin, executive director of Westminster Village of the Mid-South will announce the receipt of a $25,000 grant from the Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation to purchase a handicapped-accessible mini-bus, which will enable Westminster to establish a transportation program for residents that will improve access to health care, shopping and community events for senior residents, at the July celebration for Village residents, scheduled for 5 p.m. today...
