ARMOREL -- The Armorel school district evacuated its buildings Wednesday afternoon after a natural gas line was hit while the footing for the new elementary buildings were being cut. Flu shots head to schools

Students in all county schools will have a chance to receive both the seasonal flu vaccine and H1N1 nasal vaccine before the end of the month, said Cheryl Warriner, acting administrator of the Mississippi County Health Department. So far, workers from the health department have been to schools in Keiser, Luxora, Gosnell, Blytheville, Wilson and Leachville. They are scheduled to go to Manila and Rivercrest next week and Armorel the next week, she said...

Thefts, burglaries investigated

Blytheville Police are investigating thefts from a business, a car and some homes according to reports from the department. Officers were called to the 800 block of South Lake at 3:30 a.m. last Friday, where an alarm had been activated at Dave's Munchies. Officers found a large window broken out when they arrived. They also discovered several lighters and candy bars on the floor along with an open box of cigars. Candy and cigars were the only items reported taken valued at $50...
