Wednesday, March 16, the business owners of Main Street Blytheville treated a group of Mississippi County students to an unforgettable day of new experiences. The middle school class of Mrs. Alithia Davis and Mrs. Shawn Presson visited many Main Street businesses on a field trip day, to learn some new skills and explore Blytheville. Students experienced a tour of the Greyhound Bus Station and the Ritz Civic Center, a taekwondo demonstration, a cupcake decorating class, a photo shoot, lunch and more, all courtesy of local business owners. The teachers and parents were pleased with the warmth shown to their students. "Main Street Blytheville business owners truly rolled out the red carpet for these fantastic students. It was thrilling to witness the joy each establishment showed as they catered to my students," said Davis. "The students learned life lessons, local history, and how to karate chop. Even more importantly, they were reminded by the selfless actions of each establishment that they not only matter, but are indeed very special." sharris@couriernews.net
