Pirates edge county rival ‘Noles in a thriller

GOSNELL - A thriller. That may be the best way to describe Friday night’s MissCo Matchup between Osceola and Gosnell at J.W. Rea Field. But even that may not be enough to account for every ebb and flow throughout the night’s contest. An early pick-6 by Seminoles senior Tony McNeil gave Osceola a boost of confidence early. After a blocked field goal attempt, the Osceola advantage sat at 6-0. But the game took a decisive turn for much of the remaining time in the first half. On first play of the following drive, Gosnell quarterback Reid Shelton connect with junior receiver Cam Williams for a 60+ yard bomb sending fireworks into the Pirate sky.
